Communities on Skirmz: a home for your players and events
What a Skirmz community is, what it includes, how public and private communities differ, and how moderators and invites keep it running.
A community is where a group of players on Skirmz meets: one place for its members, its events, its matches and its rules. Players can return to the same community for regular competition rather than arranging each match from scratch.
What a community includes
- Members. A member list with roles, so you can tell owners, moderators and regular players apart.
- Announcements. Posts that tell members what is happening next.
- Games and queues. Each community sets up the games it plays and the modes players can queue for.
- Matches. Matches played in the community are listed together, with their results.
- Tournaments. Brackets run by the community. See Tournaments.
- Seasons. A way to group competition into periods.
- Chat. A place for members to talk. Community chat is for members only.
Public and private
A public community can be joined by anyone. A private community is invite-only: people need an invite from someone who is allowed to share one.
Invites
Communities have invite links that let people join, including private communities. Ask the owner or a member for a current link, and check that it shows the community you expect before you confirm.
Moderation
Community roles control who can manage the community. Ask the owner or a community moderator about conduct problems and include the relevant match and player details. Match-result disputes have a separate review process; see How a match works.
Starting one
Any account can start a community. A name, a description and a privacy setting are enough to begin. Then add your games, invite your people and schedule a first event.
